I made an impulse purchase when I couldn’t sleep one night and ended up buying biyori.cafe through Porkbun. The domain is currently hosted by InterServer, who make hosting easy and affordable.
To be honest, I can’t remember the first domain I ever bought many years ago. It was a resource website for graphic design needs that I also briefly had an online shop on. However, my interest in maintaining websites decreased and I ended up closing it in 2015.
So while biyori.cafe isn’t my first domain, I still consider it my baby.
“Biyori” is a lovely Japanese word that has multiple meanings. Its primary meaning is “weather”, but it can also be interpreted as “a good day” or “a fine day”. The term can also be used more broadly to describe the passing of time and the ever-changing nature of life. It’s a poetic word that captures the beauty of the world around me and the fleeting moments that make life special.
I took the word “biyori” as the inspiration for my domain, as it’s a word that encapsulates many of the ideas that are important to me. My dream of opening a cafe is also tied to these ideas. A cafe is a place where people come together to enjoy good food, good company, and good conversation.
In many ways, my dream of opening a cafe is about creating a space where people can experience the same sense of wonder and joy that I feel when I hear the word “biyori”. It’s about creating a place that is both welcoming and inspiring, where people can come to relax and recharge.
