Experience Japanese Culture in Europe

Matcha • Kimono • Wagashi • Workshops

At Biyori, we bring the serenity, flavors, and beauty of Japanese traditions into your everyday life.

A perfect day for something special.

In Japanese, biyori (日和) means the perfect day for something special.
For us, it’s the perfect day to enjoy matcha, wear kimono, or share a seasonal wagashi.

Founded by tea enthusiasts and kimono lovers in Düsseldorf, Biyori is a cultural hub that connects Japan and Europe through authentic products, workshops, and events.

We believe in slowing down, savoring rituals, and building community around shared experiences.

Wagashi are traditional Japanese confections that reflect the seasons. At Hanagasumi, we craft nerikiri and other sweets in Europe, and host workshops where you can experience the art of wagashi-making yourself.

A cup of tea, the touch of silk, a sweet that reflects the season — these small moments are where culture lives. At Biyori, we celebrate the everyday beauty of Japanese traditions and invite you to experience them with us.

The Atmosphere Was awesome, we had so much fun creating cute sweets together. Thank you so much to Yen San who showed us everything and to every one in the Team as Well.

Thank you so much for the wonderful workshop! It was so much fun 😊

It was really great to learn about the techniques and tools used to make Nerikiri Wagashi. I loved how the designs are inspired by the changing seasons.🍁Thank you also for offering plenty of green tea throughout the event 🍵😻

The only thing I might have liked would be to learn a bit more about how the basic recipe and measurements are made – but I completely understand that the workshop might have become too long otherwise! So all in all 5/5 experience ✨
